Horse Dies at Churchill Downs, eighth Current Fatality at House of Kentucky Derby
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A horse died Sunday after a race at Churchill Downs, making it the eighth fatality in current weeks on the residence of the Kentucky Derby.
Rio Moon “suffered a catastrophic damage to his left foreleg just a few strides after the wire,” based on notes within the Equibase chart for the sixth race.
