Lea Michele will get a number of standing ovations in ‘Funny Girl’ debut
The “Glee” star’s flip as Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl” earned her 4 standing ovations earlier than intermission, based on Deadline. She was celebrated once more on the remaining curtain, with Michele and co-star Tovah Feldshuh accepting bouquets of white roses.
Feldshuh performs Mrs. Brice within the manufacturing.
In the viewers was Michele’s former “Spring Awakening” co-star Jonathan Groff, “Glee creator” Ryan Murphy and actor Zachary Quinto.
Michele would usually reference “Funny Girl” throughout her time on “Glee,” along with her character Rachel Berry belting out “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star” and “People” from the musical.
“Funny Girl” final featured “Booksmart” actor Beanie Feldstein within the title function.
Feldstein left “Funny Girl” two months early after it was introduced she was being changed by Michele, saying she was following the choice to “take the present in a distinct course.”
